Luiza CAROL
Born on March 1, 1947, in Bucharest (Romania).
Settled in Israel in 1980.
Teacher of English and piano.
She writes in several languages, for readers of different ages:
poetry, prose, theatre, songs, translations, essays.
Between 1989-2004 she was associate editor of "Voices Israel" - an international magazine of English poetry. From 2008, she is a member of the editorial boards of the following Esperanto magazines:
- "Esperantista Vegetarano" (The Esperantist Vegetarian) published in Hungary,
- "Internacia Pedagogia Revuo" (International Pedagogical Review) published in Hungary,
- "La Karavelo" (The Caravel) literary magazine published in Portugal.

Member of the following associations:
-- "International Center for Women Playwrights", 
- "Tutmonda Esperantista Vegetarana Asocio" (The World Vegetarian Esperanto Association),
- "Universala Esperanto-Asocio" (Universal Esperanto Association),
- "Esperanto-Ligo en Israelo" (Esperanto-League in Israel),
- "Voices" (group of poets in English),
- "Esperanto-Amikaro de CDELI" (Friends of the Esperanto research center CDELI in Switzerland).

- Prize "Irina Gorun" (for poetry in Romanian), Israel 1995
- Second prize at "Belartaj Konkursoj" (for essay in Esperanto), Holland 2008
- Second prize at "Belartaj Konkursoj" (for play in Esperanto), Poland 2009.
- Third prize at "Belartaj Konkursoj" (for prose in Esperanto), Cuba 2010.
- Prize for the competition "Letter to Zamenhof" (in Esperanto), Russia 2010.

Other literary prizes and distinctions:
- Prize "Ianculovici" for Romanian literature, Israel 1995
- Prize "Nicu Palty" for Romanian literature (patronized by ACMEOR), Israel 1998
- Diploma for the best literary critic of 2006, voted by "The International Poetry Translation and Research Centre" in Guanyinqiao, China 2007.
- Prize Choi Lai Sheung for distinguished literary critic, China 2010.
